Harlands Primary School

VacanCIES

Teacher of Primary Music (Temporary/Part Time)

Contract:  Temporary from September 2022 to July 2023

Salary:          TMS 1 to TMS 6 depending on experience

Required from September 2022 for two/three days per week, likely to be Monday and Tuesday, plus Wednesday if needed, but flexibility may be possible.

Harlands is an ambitious and vibrant two-form entry primary school, which became a converter, stand-alone, academy in April 2014. Our most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2017 was Good.

At Harlands, our children are highly motivated, eager to learn and delightful to teach.  We have developed a bespoke curriculum with high standards underpinned by extensive enrichment in the Arts and Sport.  The school is situated in a woodland location.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and aspirational music teacher to provide class lessons for the whole school, from EYFS to Year 6, as well as leading Key Stage group singing sessions, supporting whole school assemblies and supporting year group productions.  There would also be opportunities to support the running of a School Band and Choir as extra curricular activities.  We welcome applications from either an ECT who will benefit from our experience of supporting new teachers through their induction years, or an experienced teacher who is looking for a new opportunity.

Music lessons at Harlands provide part of our teacher’s PPA time.

We are looking for:

  • A collaborative team player
  • An energetic and enthusiastic teacher with a love of music and an ability to spread that joy
  • Someone who is well experienced in teaching singing to young people, with a positive and encouraging attitude, an inclusive approach, and a multitude of fun songs up their sleeve to suit different classes and groups.
  • A teacher who has the desire to ensure every child fulfils their potential
  • An exemplary role model with strong values and high expectations of pupils

We can offer you:

  • Bubbly, energetic and independent children who are keen to learn in a happy, caring and exciting environment
  • A strong team ethos with committed, friendly and supportive staff
  • A whole school commitment to striving for excellence
  • Supportive parents and governors
  • The opportunity to work in an established converter stand-alone academy.

Harlands Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  All appointments are subject to pre-employment checks, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service with barred lists check.  This will be done by means of applying for a DBS certificate through the Disclosure and Barring Service.  Disclosures include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings, as well as convictions, spent or unspent.

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.

For more information, please contact the Headteacher’s PA, Mrs K Michael, to whom applications should be sent kmichael@harlandsedtrust.org.uk
