Year 6 School Journey - May 2022

And finally,

Here is our traditional beach picture taken from the cliffs -

Friday

We have just received some photos from today's fun trip to Blackgang Chine.

Thursday

Last night the children enjoyed their very own talent show, which got everyone involved with songs, jokes. and laughter galore.

This morning all the groups have caught up on the activities that they had not done earlier in the week - so lots of climbing, archery and den building.

The afternoon has been spent on the beach, making sand sculptures.   As the sun was out, and the children were having such a lovely time, they were then allowed into the sea for a very welcome paddle.  We can only apologise for the sand that will probably be coming home in the cases - it was worth it for a very enjoyable afternoon!

Wednesday

Today has been spent at Robin Hill.  Although the weather has not been perfect - rather windy and somewhat drizzling at times which meant that the toboggan run was not open for very long - we still had a lovely time.  The children enjoyed the toboggan run, then were amazed by the speed and prowess shown during the birds of prey display.  The children then had plenty of time to enjoy the other attractions within the park, including the rides, the maze and the squirrel run.  A number of peacocks also came to visit us during the day.

Tuesday

Today has been an absolutely action packed day, with everyone, including all the adults, having the opportunity to go on the fantastic quick zip wire, which allows four people to go at the same time.  Huge fun, even if some of us were left dangling!

There has also been lots of fencing, an obstacle challenge, archery, den building and climbing, with the children finishing the day, hopefully now tired out, with a mini olympics and tug of war session.

See if you can spot whose who in the photos.

Monday

Despite the delay in the coach arriving, and then a problem with the timing of  our ferry crossing which meant that we were not able to visit Carisbrooke Castle, the children arrived earlier at the Kingswood Centre and were able to enjoy a beautiful walk along the coast to the Culver Monument before having dinner.

After dinner the children enjoyed a hilarious session of buggy building, the catch being that they then had to transport their staff leader around a course.  Great fun was had by all, including the staff.  All the buggies stayed intact, no staff ended up on the floor!

A very enjoyable first day, with the children being an absolute credit to us despite the delays.
